The consortium for the protection of PISTACCHIO VERDE DI BRONTE DOP
The Consorzio di tutela del Pistacchio Verde di Bronte DOP, whose instrument of incorporation was stipulated on 3 November 2004, was set up with the aim of defending, safeguarding, and promoting the main product of the area, which is unique of its kind: the “Pistacchio Verde di Bronte DOP”.
The “green gold”, as it is also called, is the main economic resource of Bronte’s vast and varied territory, with a peculiar production characteristic: an ’emerald green’ fruit with a taste and aroma recognized universally as unique and special.
These characteristics are attributable precisely to the place of production. In fact, in a “scarce” and impervious territory such as that of Bronte, an extraordinary combination of plant and lava soil takes place, favoring the production of a sought-after fruit, used in confectionery and gastronomy for its high organoleptic properties.

THE CONSORTIUM’S PURPOSE
Together to protect the PISTACCHIO VERDE DI BRONTE DOP
The aim of the consortium is to extend the knowledge and dissemination of Pistachio Verde di Bronte DOP in Italy and abroad, as well as its quality characteristics, carrying out promotion and information activities everywhere, also concerning its production chain.
Above all, one of the main objectives of the consortium is to intensify checks on the Pistachio Verde di Bronte DOP product to counter fraud as far as possible and ensure product traceability.
